Samurai Wars

 

Here is a "big fish". A drawing that I made for Digital Artist Award 2009. Unfortunantly, I didn´t achieved a good position, but it was a good motivational for make this piece (nice excuse from a looser, hehehehe)
So, this art its a Jedi´s origins: I´ve tried to capture the battle of Obiwan Kenobi and Darth Vader on Star Wars - Episode IV - A New Hope. The jedis were inspired on the ancient samurais, so I bring that aesthetics to the illustration.


The Kanjis says (right to left):

"Finally we have met. The Circle is now complete. When I left you, I was but the learner. Now, I am the master!"

"Only a master of evil, darth"

I´ve made a really hard word scanning the textures and work on them. I hope you enjoy it!

Esse aqui é oque chamo de "peixe grande". Um desenho que eu fiz para o Digital Artist Award, de 2009. Infelizmente, não alcancei uma boa posição, mas serviu como uma ótima motivação para eu fazer essa peça (boa desculpa de perdedor, hehehe).

Então, essa arte é a origem dos Jedi: Eu tentei capturar a batalha de Obiwan Kenobi e Darth Vader em Star Wars - Episódio IV - Uma Nova Esperança. Os jedi são inspirados nos antigos samurais, então resolvi trazer essa estética para a ilustração.

Os Kanjis dizem (da direita para esquerda):

"Finalmente nos encontramos. O circulo está completo agora. Quando eu deixei você, eu era apenas um aprendiz. Agora, o mestre sou eu!"

"Apenas um mestre do mal, Darth"

Tive muito trabalho digitalizando as texturas e trabalhando sobre elas. Espero que vocês gostem!

Leap Year Nationalism / Nacionalismo Bissexto

Well, As usual at the World Cup fever, all the Brazil is glazed about this subject. And how could not fail to occur,  the RedFoot team also entered this!

I made this comic strip to the Guerra de Ilustrações, a monthly illustration contest here in Londrina, which gather many illustrators of the city. The theme of this month - obviously - was "World Cup".

The comic strip tranlated to english (from left to right):

Bem, como costuma ocorrer na época da Copa do Mundo, o Brasil todo está vidrado no assunto. E como não poderia deixar de ocorrer, a equipe RedFoot também entrou nessa!

Produzi essa tirinha para a Guerra de Ilustrações, que é um evento mensal aqui em Londrina, o qual reúne ilustradores da cidade. O tema desse mês -obviamente - foi "Copa  do Mundo".

Espero que gostem!!!


 Em breve posterei um wallpaper especial  para vocês torcerem para o Brasil nessa Copa. (ou talvez paenas para vocês terem um wallpaper feito por mim na área de trabalho deo vocês!)

So, here comes another personal project! I wanted to make an illustration based on a photograph (not to be so realistic, but to get close!) and then make some aplication on it.


I have always coloured my works on Adobe Photoshop, but in that project I tried to work with Corel Painter. It is a wonderfull tool, but I, who had never worked so well with traditional media, have some difficult to understand how the brushes works on that  work enviroment.  Anyway, here is the result!

Olá!

Bom, aqui segue mais um projeto pessoal! Eu queria fazer uma ilustração baseada em uma foto (não um desenho tão realista, mas algo que chegasse perto!) E então aplica-lo em algum lugar.

Eu sempre colori meus trabalhos no Adobe Photoshop, mas nesse projeto eu tentei trabalhar com o Corel Painter. É uma ferramenta maravilhosa, mas eu, que nunca trabalhei muito bem com mídias tradicionais, tive dificuldades para enteder como so pincéis funcionam nesse ambiente de trabalho. De qualquer forma, eis o resultado!

Primeiro, a foto original. Depois, a pintura e, finalmente, a aplicação.

“Marquis”

The “Marquis” is a bizarre result of anti-ethic and genetic experiments. Resulting in a mix of a human embryo with a pig, he is an abomination, hunted wherever he goes. After long years of fights, he found the abandoned lands of the Sítio, where he is tolerated by the other characters. Due to the heavy drugs he takes to live, his body is full of wounds, disease and boils. He has an enormous strength, but a limited intelligence



“Marquês”

O “Marquês” é um fruto bizarro de experimentos genéticos sem escrúpulos ou ética. Resultado de um cruzamento entre um embrião humano e um porco, é um a abominação, caçada aonde quer que vá. Após anos de fuga, encontrou as terras abandonadas do Sítio, aonde é tolerado pelos outros personagens. Devido às pesadas drogas e remédios que tem de tomar para viver, seu corpo é repleto de feridas e doenças. Possuí uma força descomunal e uma inteligência limitada.
