Memórias de Baldwin - Project

Howdy!


Here is an old project developed by RedFoot Art studios. It is called Memórias de Bladwin (Baldwin´s Memories). We sent this project to a Governmet´s cultural contest, which would select and suport some projects for a short movie. 


We had registrated the whole screenplay (ya, we wrote a nice story!) and storyboard, but we kept it in low profile waiting for the result of the contest. Actually, as we had registrated the project, there was not need to keep things in secret, but we did it anyway.


But, hey ´fella, welcome to Brazil! It has been more than 8 months now and there is no clue when the result will be released (and, no: there wasn´t a definite date even when the contest started). So, to avoid the void: here is a small part of the whole project. I will shortly explain about it.

The Main Plot: The story happens in Londrina, a medium size city in the Paraná state, Brazil. Londrina was once the Coffee´s world capital, a period which made the city grows in warp 5 speed!. Unfortunantly, as we say here in Brazil: "all that is good is short-lived". A frost came in the year of 1975, which sealed the beginning of the end of the golden era of coffee here.

The story is about Baldwin a steam-train that made uncountable rides in Londrina, carrying  people, goods oportunities and dreams. Along the story, we see Baldwin as a unstoppable young train, representing the oportunities and growth that coffee brought to the city and his winter years, when the coffee era is long gone and Baldwin is an useless old train, abandoned in a museum.


When all seems sad and bad, Baldwin meet Mauro, an old man who started to work as museum´s janitor. Mauro came to Londrina long time ago, driven by the prosperity of the coffee. They both started to remember the good old times together, and Mauro shows to Baldwin how life is good again.

Olá!

Aqui temos um velho projeto desenvolvido pelo estúdio RedFoot Art. Seu nome é "Memórias de Baldwin. Nós enviamos esse projeto ara um edital cultural do Governo, o qual deveria selecionar alguns projetos eque se tornariam curta-metragens.

Nós registramos  todo o roteiro (sim, nós escrevemos uma estória bem legal!) e storyboards, mas nós mantivemos isso tudo baixo enquanto esperávamos pelo resultado do edital. Na verdade, como nós registramos o projeto, nãoi havia necessidade para tanto segredo, mas mesmo assim nós o fizemos.

Mas, hey companheiro, bem-vindo ao Brasil! Já se passaram mais de 8 meses agora e não temos nem pista  de quando o resultado será divulgado (e não: não havia nenhuma data definida desde o início do edital.).Então, para evitar o vazio: aqui está uma pequena parte do projeto. Eu explicarei brevemente sobre ele.

A Trama Principal:  A estória se passa em Londrina, uma cidade de médio porte no estado do Paraná. Londrina já foi a Capital Mundial do Café, um período o qual fez a cidade crescer em velocidade de Dobra! Infelizmente, como dizemos: "tudo que é bom dura pouco". Uma geada veio em 1975, e selou o começo do fim da era de ouro do café aqui.

A estória é sobre Baldwin, um trem à vapor que fez incontáveis viagens em Londrina, carregando pessoas, bens, oportunidades e sonhos. Ao longo da estória, vemos Baldwin como um imparável jovem trem, representando as oportunidades e crescimento que o comércio de café trouxa à cidade  e também seus dias finais, quando a era do café já se foi há tempos e Baldwin é um velho e inútil trem, abandonado num museu.


Quando tudo parece mal e triste, Baldwin conhece Mauro, um velho que começa a trabalhar como faxineiro no museu. Mauro veio a Londrtina muito tempo atrás, tragado pela prosperidade do café. Ambos começam a se lembrar dos bons e velhos tempos juntos, e Mauro mostra a Baldwin como a vida pode ser boa novamente.
